A SUSAN BOYLE POST THOUGHT FROM EDINBURGH:
Thanks to all of you for coming with me on my little trip to Scotland–It has made it even more fun to share it with people who love her talent as much as I do! Please forgive the typos, etc as I was hurrying much of the time.
I wanted to share something interesting that happened. Made me think of Susan and the nightmare the media put her through on a much bigger scale.
When we walked into the Edinburgh Playhouse with our little homemade sign–not many supplies handy to make a sign–as I mentioned earlier, 4 reporters with pad and pencil asked the usual: names, ages, where are u from, what brings you here (duh, read the sign), where are you staying, and a few other things- amazed I would be there to see Susan from the US!
This is what I said to all 4 of them and only this: “I listened to I Dreamed a Dream so many times and fell in love with Susan’s voice that my husband offered to take me to see her BGT show.
My husband is in the medical profession and was concerned about Susan’s being able to make it, so he bought tickets strictly for the 2 shows he thought she might do, if any.
We saw the show in Glasgow and then came here to Edinburgh with a stop in Blackburn on the way.” That was what I said, period. My kids/hubby went to the Edinburgh Dungeons and to kill the hour I walked over to a big newstand at Edinburgh/Waverly Train Station, asked the employee which papers would most likely have Susan Boyle news from her previous night’s show in Edinburgh, and settled in for a lovely hour of bliss to read about her.
Surprised, I opened The Daily Record to find our little interview and a giant beautiful full page S Boyle color photo. I then opened ‘Evening News The Edinburgh Paper’ and another great S B article and variation of our interview, here as well.
I opened my next paper and this is what I read: Lisa xx, age 49 and her daughter Cxxx, 12, traveled from Philadelphia, US to see Susan in action. Lisa said ‘My husband has had to listen to I Dreamed a Dream for a month solid and he INSISTED I come over.’ ‘We stayed in Blackburn at The Happy Valley bar where she used to sing.” “I would only stay at the Happy Valley.” Guess which paper?? THE SUN–I don’t need to say anymore.

Unbelievable! Or should I say - totally believable!! It never ceases to amaze me how The Sun can twist things around!!
Hope you’re enjoying the rest of your trip - and give your husband a hug from us for doing this for you! What a gem!
Thanks!
