Personal Report From One of The Susan-Boyle Fan Club Members

By Terrie Wurzbacher

I can’t tell you how envious I am of this woman but also very grateful for her accounts:

GOBSMACKED! GOBSMACKED! GOBSMACKED! I HAVE TRULY EXPERIENCED THAT WORD!!

When we got there people were walking into the auditorium–the room for BGT Tour was about the size of half an NBA court. It is literally an auditorium with rows of connected folding chairs, attached cushions and a giant screen behind the stage like fanavision at pro sports. When we sat down the first thing I noticed was 4 men in suits chatting and immediately recognized one of them as the man who is shown in all travel photos with Susan–the tall guy with the salt/pepper gray hair. I asked him if he was the man I see in the papers with Susan and he chuckled and said “Depends what papers you read. Yes, I do travel with one of our performers.”

Every performer wears their “Finals” outfits for every show–they have multiples of them. You have to see Susan’s gown in person–it is exquisite up close–not the sack like look it sometimes takes on in videos.

Susan Boyle was perfect tonight in Glasgow! We were so close–6 feet away, that I could actually see where her eyeliner started and stopped. She looked like a star at Madison Square Garden, I am not exxagerating . The Susan on the original audition is no more. The 9 finalists all performed before intermission (from 7:45-8:45) Then Stephen Mulhern introduced Flawless who danced again. Then he said his line about the most googled person etc and Susan walked out!

Susan drew huge cheers, in the front she came through loud and clear (screaming from teen girls in the video stayed in the back) everyone let her sing and it was fabulous–the crowd was so respectful. Stephen Mulhern said “Glasgow, I mean this when I say..you have been the best audience we have had and you can watch clips of all previous shows and know I have not said that before. I really mean it.”

She actually said Thank you Glasgow but only the thank you part got picked up in the mike–we heard Glasgow as she started to walk away—had to be close to hear the last word–it was awesome!

After Susan’s 2nd song–I Dreamed a Dream, she hesitated and waved and then she said “Thank you Glasgow”. It was loud and clear. There are already Glasgow videos up so no need for me to forward mine (it is a keeper for sure) but when we do Edinburgh tomorrow if none are up I’ll send mine into this site.

None of the performers say anything to the audience–Susan was the only one who did when she said thank you Glasgow. She lingered and then walked off. This is not a particularly professional tour and from the front row when you look to the left and right of the stage (because the curtain is not shut–by about 2 feet.), we watched Susan and the 2 grand grandad watching the acts from the side laughing and chatting.

What is my favorite part is they reintroduce each act at the end and they are all on stage while they wrap–for about 5 minutes and I loved watching Susan Boyle tapping her toe and bopping her chin up and down and lightly clapping to the music standing next to the sax guy. She was soooorelaxed.

I can’t even describe the Susan Boyle who I saw tonight–Oh by the way for sure Susan is about 5′3″ if she didn’t have the heels on. Her professional make-up, the whole package was mind blowing. She seemed to really relax and showed no signs up nerves–it was a beautiful night and she performed beautifully.

The 17 yr old Shaun and the grandad had a bit of line skipping but we won’t read about that I am sure.

I was stopped by a camera crew and asked if it was true that I cam from Philadelphia (the suburbs really) and then they asked me to do a chat. It’s a big station–I will look for it tomorrow and if it’s not too spazzy I’ll post the link. On to Edinburgh–thanks for all of the kind words Susan Boyle fans.

You must go to a concert if Susan does one in our country. The charisma when she came out was quite moving–the hooting and hollering in these youtube uploads did not come through to the front and it is a beautiful experience. I just said to my 12 yr old daughter who will come to the Edinburgh show with me tomorrow night that now I really get why Simon Cowell is willing to walk on eggshells with her because she is truly star material–her personna is so endearing, yet she is just a girl’s girl. I put 2 posts on the main blog about her during the show tonight when they all came out at the end. Also, my husband came to the show tonight and he actually said “Wow Susan Boyle owned that olace tonight–she was in a class all her own.” He enjoyed her but not enough to go again tomorrow–bad boy:)

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I am just so moved by Susan - I can’t get enough of her. I’ve listened to her videos over and over and over and never tire of them. To this day, when I rewatch her original video I’m still moved to tears.

I truly hope she tours the US as that is one concert I would definitely pay to see! I don’t really listen to CD’s, but I would definitely buy hers and play it all the time! (my husband just doesn’t get it but I know you do!

Thanks for sharing and for this site!

You aren’t the only one who can’t get enough of her. I spend way too many hours scouring the internet reading about her and her adventures and finding whatever I can for our site. Thanks for posting!
