I agree the screaming and cheering is annoying when I want to hear Susan sing. I also agree it would be nice to hear another song from Susan. However, I am thrilled to hear the cheers and screaming as they appear to be from the younger set who probably went to the concert to see Diversity or Shaun. Screaming throughout the performance is their way of showing appreciation. They are appreciating Susan and her music - her songs. Songs with meaning and emotion. Songs with lyrics that can be understood. Songs without profanity, sex, and violence. Real music with a melody. This is a good thing to be happening to our children and grandchildren. I am happy to listen to the screaming for now, as I know soon a DVD will be made without the background noise and a quality I can appreciate. I can wait.

Also on the DVD will be a selection of songs. I can wait for that as well. For now I am content to let the audiences hear the songs they paid to hear. It is training for Susan and as each new video is released, I am able to see her grow. Each performance is better than the one before. Both her confidence and voice are growing steadily better.

I pay no attention to the tabloids. I, and other fans like me, have caused the feverish writing of false reports. I hunger for news of Susan and she is now so protected, no one, not TV, radio, or newspaper can get a story or photo. What are they to do to keep me happy except make up the stories. Some will believe, but most won’t. Isn’t it wonderful they can’t get close enough to Susan to get those photos and interviews. I asked for more protection for Susan, as did we all. She is certainly protected now and can focus on her future.

It will be a happy day when the tour is over and Susan can give me what I want. For now, I am content to follow the things I can and let Susan have her day. I thank everyone who is posting videos of her tour. I am enjoying them all.

Dear Susan, I joined this fansite (did a Google search to find out more about you and came across this site) just after I saw you on the evening news singing at your audition. I love all three of your performances and whilst a bit disappointed that you didn’t win BGT (it would have been the cherry on the cake), I take comfort that the “universe is unfolding as it should” and we are dealt from God (whoever we perceive him to be - I’m not a christian but I am a spiritual person) what we can handle at times in our lives.

I am happy for you and hope that you have a well earned rest and get back on your feet soon to record the CD we are all waiting for. There are good people in this world but unfortunately the world is also full of trickery and falseness. I take great inspiration from the Desiderata:

“Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
,hr>

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I’m copying an excerpt from an article on Diversity’s win in the
TimesOnline. Susan danced with them! Too cute! What an amazing lady!

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/tv_and_radio/article6400081.ece

“The first question, naturally enough, was about them - but the second was about Susan Boyle, and what they had said to each other backstage.

On the international stage, this competition has produced only one truly global star; and, talented though they may, it is not Ashley Banjo, his brother and their friends, but a 48-year-old spinster from Lothian who looks like a dinner lady and sings like a miracle.

Despite reports of her volatile temper, their post-victory encounter
with the woman the tabloids have cruelly dubbed The Hairy Angel passed off better than anyone could have hoped. “She was probably more gracious off stage than on stage,” said Banjo

‘Unbelievable offers’ for Susan Boyle to work in the US’ Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has revealed that he has a ‘detailed plan” to make Susan Boyle a global singing star.Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has revealed that he has a ‘detailed plan’ to make Susan Boyle a global singing star.Millions of viewers saw Susan’s shock defeat, losing out in the final to the dance act Diversity, but Simon Cowell told the News of the World that he has been working on a strategy to bring fame and fortune to the singer regardless of the competition result.Cowell said: “Diversity were absolutely incredible. I’m gutted for Susan. She was there at the top all the way through. But she was incredibly gracious. Susan has come out of this very well. ‘We’ve never had a runner-up like Susan before.’ ‘She won over a lot of fans tonight, not just with her voice, but with her graciousness.”She’s got a massive future in front of her.’Insiders have said that Susan is certain to get a record contract and believe that she could get more than Faryl Smith’s £2.3million deal. Other lucrative projects in the pipeline include a Hollywood blockbuster of Susan’s amazing rise to fame, a book of memoirs, product endorsements and TV appearances. A source close to Cowell said that “unbelievable” opportunities had come in for Susan to work in the US. They said: “You would not believe the offers we have on the table -win or lose-for Susan Boyle. They are all in place and ready to be signed.’They don’t care in America whether she wins a British TV show-they care about the woman they saw singing on YouTube. If anything, £8million in her first year might be an underestimate.’ Cowell said: ‘Susan could become the biggest star I’ve discovered. It’s the biggest phenomenon I’ve seen out of any of my shows.’This article is powered by Well Contented Ltd Last updated: 31 May 2009, 09:53

The one thing I want to reiterate is that no other talent the BGT line up had to deal with the world wide pressure that Susan had to. especially from the American public, Larry King Live, Ophrah Winfrey, Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher, and despite all this pressure she held her own and delivered an outstanding performance. This is a testament to her as an artist and to the career ahead of her. I am enamored with her voice and talent, she’s going to achieve what other artists only dream of. God bless Susan.

Right from the start I found the judges to be patronizing. They tell everyone they are the very best act. I think they talk to much. The whole show is fake,a farce. When Piers was telling her he wanted her to win,she pretended her head was getting cut off. She is so smart. I think she gave so many signs that she knew what was going on. Well she did the show anyway and she did it “Her Way”. Good for you Susan. We love you all the more for it!

i am still so angry about the hell she was put through this past week. and the condescending. patronizing way she is still talked to by everyone connected with bgt. she looked to me like she was at the limit of her endurance, as any of us would be. and you know, i think this past week had shown her quite plainly that piers, and amanda, and simon were not her friends, that they were just playing games. i think the way she looked at them and the things she said made that plain. and yes, she was gracious and dignified. i think it is obvious that she only went through with the final not to give the hyenas the satisfaction of running her off. and will someone tell me what is it with this spinster word continually being used by piers, and the newspapers. is that something peculiar to britain? i have never heard people over here actually that word. i’ve only seen it used in really older novels or those placed in older periods. i am very bitter about how she has been abused.

The hidden message here is that people who face putting a brain injured child out of his or her misery will say YES to organ donation rather than subject the child to a life of ridicule like “that woman, Susan Boyle.” I also have doubts that the Queen will make any overtures to Susan. Look what the Royal family did to Diana because she was outspoken…

I’m glad I came back here. I was posting and reading everyone else’s posts right after the results, but as the evening wore on I found I was getting more and more depressed. I really did not understand the depth of my emotional involvement with this little Scottish woman! Was sitting through dinner with my husband and just felt like bursting into tears like Hollie and demanding a do-over! Intellectually I know that NOT winning will be better for Susan’s career in the long run. But emotionally, I just wanted her to have that public validation for the world to say that she is #1. I feel like those people who thought she was “worthless” can still think, “Well, Susan, see, so you had a good song, but you’re still not the best.” To me and all of us here she is number one, but I don’t really know how much of that gets through to her. If she’s only reading the newspapers with all the negative press. I just hope she achieves amazing success and has wonderful opportunities open to her now. Because she is truly special and I hope more than anything that she somehow knows that. Anyhow, reading some of the new posts that have come in later has helped me. I wish Susan could see these!!!!!!

For those of you who were not able to watch Susan sing in the finale, I am posting here the comments from the 3 judges after she sang. This information comes from an article that will appear in the next issue of ‘People Magazine.’ Quote from ‘People:’

The judges were more effusive. In the words of Piers Morgan, she sang the song “better than you did last time” and “that, to me, was the greatest performance in Britain’s Got Talent history. I loved it.” He, like fellow judges Cowell – who was famously stunned when he first saw her – and actress Amanda Holden were on their feet at the end of her performance.

With applause dying down, Holden told her, “Susan, I have never heard such powerful, confident vocals. You sang it so well this evening. You have been under an enormous amount of pressure but you did it, girl. Simon had a tear in his eye and I have never seen that before.”

And Cowell said, “You had the guts to come back here tonight, face your critics and you beat them, and that’s the most important thing. I’ve got to know the real Susan Boyle – which is not the person I’ve seen portrayed in the media – who is still a very nice shy person who just wants a break. I absolutely adore you.”

Now, I have a question and hope someone will answer. What is a “tube of smarties?” I really don’t know, lol.

As someone mentioned, it is SUSAN’S picture on the Yahoo page about BGT. I hopped over there to read the article and there are a ton of comments but my eyes are so tired from too much computer use today. I read up through page 4 of the comments and they are almost ALL in favor of Susan! Whatever popularity BGT garnered through Susan has been shot to h**l with this upset

I just have to echo what Bohemian Spirit posted above. The difference between how Susan looked before and after the results is amazing. She looked so relieved and happy and so very gracious that I feel lucky to be one of her fans today. Rock on Susan! You deserve the best!

From Bohemian Spirit:

“Susan gave a beautiful, nuanced, professional performance tonight. Very heartfelt, especially on the “tigers come at night” bridge and on “so different from this hell I’m living.” I was worried because she looked very nervous and drained, like she was just trying to get through the event without collapsing–and yet she gave a brilliant performance, anyway.

When the time came to announce the winner, I honestly thought Susan was going to throw up from the tension. But as soon as Diversity was announced the winner, suddenly the strain fell away, and she was our old radiant Susan once again. And it struck me that, for all that some would count second place as “losing,” Susan looked RELIEVED. I think she was hoping, not to take first place, but to be relieved of the obligations to BGT that being a first-place winner would place upon her.

Make no mistake: She loves to sing, even now. It’s not singing she’s rejecting. Rather, she’s realized, in these short seven weeks, that her true dream is not to be a “celebrity” for Britain’s Got Talent but to be a professional singer. She doesn’t belong in that circus sideshow; she belongs on the stage, doing serious singing–with a little kick of fun, now and then. Did you note how she broke into a wild and energetic dance at the end of the show? SHE LOOKED HAPPY. And I really think that her gracious words about the better act winning first place could be translated, not as a gracious cover for disappointment, but as a gracious cover for relief. She looked as if she were thinking: OH THANK GOD.

So maybe our prayers worked, after all, for the highest good as far as Susan is concerned.

Susan’s talent has been made known. She has a substantial following waiting to buy her albums and see her in concert. Let us pray, now, that she can develop and pursue her singing career ON HER OWN TERMS. ”

Susan, you have led us all through a 7 week course or the ‘hero’s’ journey. You have shown us you are a heroine, who has seen the dark night of despair, who has been aided by helpers, and who has triumphed over all that you have endured, from being an unknown, to world famous professional singer. Susan, you are an enlightened soul to be able to go through this whole experience and emerge at the other end, as a winner in the hearts of the world, as the hero/ heroine in the eyes, heart, and soul of humanity.

Susan, you have pulled me out of the deepest depression from a death in my family on April 18th. I owe you the greatest gratitude for coming out and singing to the world, for your Mum. Your Mum is smiling down from heaven, and cheering you on to achieve your Dream of being the professional singer that she always knew you have been.

We love you Susan, and support you in achieving your Dream, and doing it your way.

God be with you always,

Love to you Susan, and to all your fans,

Joan

Here is a poem i have written for Susan for tonight. I hope you all like what it says.

When the wind has died, and the seas are calm A gentle breeze will take your palm To another place, a safer place Where vultures die, my kindly lamb

A world awaits, their breaths abate A kindly world that knows your fate Where you will rise and shine right through And show them all that you be great

And ye shall shine, for you are fine The whole world knows your soul divine You dream to sing, we all shall hear That you have brought us all so near

And now it is, your time has come We hope you shine your brightest sun And in a place we know not where The proudest woman says ‘I’m her mum’

All the best Susan

Hi guys

I posted this earlier on the ‘chat away’ blog and wanted to share it again. ‘A Man’s a Man for A’ that. copyright Rabbie Burns. Have a read…..

Hello everyone.

Hope you all take the time to read this, especially all my mad fellow Susan lovers in the good ol’ USA.

Susan has just been the ‘final’ story on the national News At Ten (its now 10.30pm GMT), here in the UK. As i am sure you all know by now, there has been a little bit of ’sniping’ of our SuBo here in the UK, due to her alleged four letter word outburst, and Piers Morgan has been interviewed asking for everyone to stop criticising her as she is on the verge of quitting the show. Here is my own personal thoughts.

I believe, with her own admitted learning difficulties, that hers is a natural reaction (if it is in fact true), and that if she has reacted, it is not a reflection of the person inside. I still, truly, believe that she has a not a bad bone in her body, and am feeling so much for her just now. Because of the hype, she has been built up (and rightly so, as she has the most beautiful voice i have ever heard), and must be feeling all of this so, so much, right now. I am a SCOT, like our very own Susan, and feel immensely proud of what she has done, and am so worried that she may crack up with this pressure. I now want Saturday out of the way (win or lose) so she can move on and record her voice for us all to hear.

Can i finally say, as a Scottish gay man who absolutely loves the USA (been to New York, Florida, San francisco and Las Vegas - and who will happily accepy any offers of a holiday in the states lol), that i want to thank each and every single American who has shown there heartfelt sincerity for the power and joy that has come from hearing Susan Boyle sing, and to say, that, although there are many genuine people in the UK who, too, love Susan, we have too many people in our country who are so quick to build someone up, but then break them down, and all for probably making a few headlines, and selling a few newspapers.

Thank you for the USA, and it is good to know, that if Susan is rejected from this country, then all she has to do is moved to the US and she will know just how much she is loved and how much joy she has brought, in to so many peoples lives.

Please feel free to correspond with me.

All my love, Max

This is very interesting - this brave young woman taped herself watching the You Tube Video of Susan. She got positive and negative comments on her blog - I ask you - wasn’t this close to how you reacted? I know it was almost exactly as I responded when I saw the video (and continue to watch it).
