Susan Boyle tells world she’s fine after post-Britain’s Got Talent stint in the Priory
By Fiona Cummins 6/06/2009
Susan Boyle emerged for the first time since her stay at the Priory after a breakdown and announces: “I’m fine.”
The healthy-looking Britain’s Got Talent star was all smiles as she enjoyed a shopping spree.
But she was accompanied by her doctor, Sarah Lotzof, who trained as a psychiatrist.
The sight was still enough to get BGT producers hoping that Susan, 48, could now be well enough to join the show’s money-spinning tour.
One source said: “I would be very surprised if she didn’t do it.”
Troubled Susan had been rushed to the London clinic on Sunday after losing out on the show’s £100,000 first prize to dancers Diversity.
She then checked herself out just a few days later. Her brother Gerry, 55, said Susan, who lives in Blackburn, West Lothian, is now staying in a flat in Central London. “She’s much happier and she seems a lot more like herself. Things are becoming clearer for her now. And she’s beginning to believe, ‘Yes indeed, I will be a singer’.”

Sources said they were now hopeful that Susan would join the BGT tour, which kicks off in Birmingham next Friday.
Rehearsals are due to start on Monday at a secret Central London location. The insider said: “I think her breakdown was because she didn’t win and didn’t understand the industry.
“She thought her career was over. But now she has been told that she still has a shot at success - and she’s raring to go. The decision’s been very much put in her hands. She’s under no pressure.”
As Susan shopped in Radlett, Herts, her private doctor was always close at hand.
Dr Lotzof studied medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in London after graduating in Physiology and Pharmacology.
She worked in London teaching hospitals for five years then became a private GP in Dr Lotzof then became a partner of Dedicated Doctors, a private GP surgery in north London. She also performs pre-fight medicals on boxers. Wimpole Street, where she stayed for four years.
And her work with Susan seems to be paying off. When asked how she was feeling yesterday, Susan replied: “Oh fine, thanks.”
And when complimented on her appearance, she smiled coyly and thanked wellwishers. One onlooker said: “She seemed calm and together.”

I don’t get the impression that she “had” to have her doctor with her. I suspect that it was an honest offer of support from her support system. I see a therapist and I know that in extreme anxiety situations she is always available to help however I need. I think that Susan brings out the caring in all caring people and this seems to me to be just that and not a ‘need’.

Good Point Robin,
I hope that’s all it is. I’m just concerned but maybe it was going to be her first time in the public eye after all that stuff and she wanted some support. But you also know what the media does with everything.
Thanks for posting Robin
